Times Herald-Record: Theater leads the way with nontraditional casting

If you go to plays, especially in New York City, you are familiar with the practice of what Actors Equity calls "nontraditional casting."

It usually involves race or ethnicity, as with the current revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “Carousel.”
