National Agreement

The Short Engagement Touring Agreement (SETA) is negotiated for and limited to touring productions of plays and musicals with guarantees below a certain threshold. This agreement has provisions for split-week and one-night engagements which allow for flexible performance scheduling as well as international touring. Productions must qualify for use of this Agreement based on cast size, trucking costs and average weekly guarantee. Free housing and per diem are provided by the producer for all Actors outside of their permanent place of residence. All Actors receive contributions to a 401(k) plan as well as health and pension benefits. The Agreement has six categories of qualification which govern minimum salaries. Equity Members participate in a percentage of any overage the Producer earns, and once a show recoups its initial investment, that overage participation rate increases, as does the minimum salary.

The current agreement began on April 29, 2019 and expires on February 5, 2023.

Members can view the SETA Rulebook in the Rulebook Library in the Member Portal.
