National Agreement

The TYA Agreement covers productions of plays expressly written, created or adapted to be performed for children. There are two forms of the contract: the weekly contract and the per-performance contract. Performances are generally done during normal school hours and are limited to two hours in length. In addition to performances, the agreement allows associated "Artist Activity," such as classes with the students. Local and overnight touring is permitted, but expenses are required when actors are required to sleep away from their place of residence.

The current agreement began on June 29, 2015 and expires on June 26, 2022.

Members can view the TYA Rulebook in the Rulebook Library in the Member Portal.

Producers with questions about the TYA Agreement should contact their closest Equity regional office.
