As workers and artists, Equity members know that issues they are facing at home don't disappear at work, and vice versa. At times, everyone needs extra support. The union wants to help whenever possible, and fortunately, Equity has an ever-growing treasure trove of videos, info sheets and more online.
Now, there is a new Resources section on the member portal. From immigration to LGBTQ+ rights to reproductive care, the portal has pages for resources organized by topic of concern, as well as an archive of the Embracing Equity series, an educational program run by Equity's diversity and inclusion department. When an issue extends beyond the union's core functions of bargaining and enforcing contracts, Equity works to provide education and connections to where members can turn next.
This new resource section's topics include an area for mental health, which has downloadable sheets laying out what may be available by part of the country, as well as national hotlines and organizations that can help remotely.
And of course, these pages include Equity staff contacts, should members have any questions.
