New York — Actors' Equity Association, the national labor union representing more than 51,000 professional actors and stage managers in live theatre, announced that Equity's National Council has endorsed Antonio Reynoso's reelection campaign for Brooklyn Borough President, on behalf of its 3,000 members who reside in that borough.
"Antonio Reynoso has demonstrated that he understands that no matter what the industry, workers in Brooklyn share common needs and concerns: the ability to work safely and live affordably in the most populous borough in New York City," said Al Vincent Jr., executive director of Actors' Equity Association. "We join our fellow unions, in fields ranging from nursing to communications, in supporting him as he heads into his second term as borough president."
Equity's public policy priorities nationwide include defending and protecting the right to collectively bargain, a prevailing wage in the arts, racial justice, a strong minimum wage, stronger federal and state arts funding, gun violence prevention, universal federal health care, tax fairness and LGBTQ non-discrimination protections.
