Casa Bonita United

Casa Bonita entertainment workers who are unionized with Actors' Equity Association have been bargaining with management for their first union contract for a year!

Management refuses to agree to a living wage.

These professional performers want a safe workplace, reasonable benefits and paid time off and fair wages (similar to the other workers in the building) so they can continue entertaining guests for years to come.

WHAT WE NEED

Fair Wages

Performers are some of the lowest-paid workers at Casa Bonita and do not receive tips (which we have not asked for).

Many employees in other departments make an actual living wage – plus tips.

Management's current wage proposal does absolutely nothing to address the pay gap at Casa Bonita, let alone keep up with inflation.

Most entertainment workers haven't received a raise since Casa Bonita re-opened 3 years ago.

Benefits

We have already compromised with Casa Bonita management by agreeing to keep their mediocre healthcare plan. Entertainment employees, and particularly divers, face various hazards on the job, but management won't commit $4/week to supplemental workers' compensation to protect them in the event that something goes wrong.

We need reasonable sick leave, vacation and scheduling policies, particularly for full-time employees.

Bargaining

Management has refused to send individuals with actual authority to the table, or to answer questions about who might have the authority to make meaningful, reasonable movement on items that we're still bargaining over.

Matt and Trey love coming to Casa Bonita and showing it off to all of their friends, but they haven't been to the bargaining table once – not in 15 months.

Management refuses to bargain in good faith, often rejecting all compromise positions and making near-meaningless adjustments to current proposals (think two or three cents an hour – literal pocket change).

Read a petition about these issues to the Casa Bonita Management signed by 91% of the Casa Bonita United union. This was delivered to management by Equity President Brooke Shields in March 2026.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Or, if you don't want to e-mail, feel free to click over to Google or Yelp and leave a review encouraging Matt and Trey to do the right thing.
