The Washington/Baltimore Equity Liaison Committee, including Claudia Miller, Ilona Dulaski, Laura Gianarelli, Ray Ficca, Jess W. Speaker, David Elias, R. Scott Williams, Carl Randolph and Barbara Pinolini, coordinated a successful fundraising effort that raised over $32,000 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS from 13 productions at local theatres, including As You Like It, The Folger Theatre; It's A Wonderful Life, A Live Radio Play, The Wayside Theatre; Christmas Carol 1941 and The Women of Brewster Place, The Arena Stage; Current Nobody, Woolly Mammoth Theatre; Fiddler on the Roof, The Olney Theatre; Kit Marlowe, Rorschach Theatre; The Maids, Scena Theatre; Shining City, Studio Theatre; Spunk, Tribute Productions; Winter Heat, Dance Place, and the staff of the ATLAS Performing Arts Center. "Washington, DC has the highest AIDS infection rate in the country," writes Roy A. Gross, Liaison Committee member. "All of us on the Committee are grateful not only for what BC/EFA does for Equity's membership through its support for The Actors Fund, but also for the $275,000 that BC/EFA gave to 22 AIDS service organizations in Washington and Baltimore," he continues. "We are glad to be a part of these important efforts and are pleased with the outcome of this campaign and look forward to coordinating further efforts in 2008."
