Fran Gaar

Fran Gaar, a former AGVA executive, Actors Fund Trustee, and Broadway performer, passed away on Monday June 9, 2008. A Life Member who was elected Actors Fund Trustee in 1990, Fran was a member of the Budget & Finance Committee and Chair of the Board Committee overseeing the Lillian Booth Actors' Home.

A private service is being conducted by her daughter, Kari, which will be announced in a few days.

Fran also founded the Aqua Lung School of NY, where she trained thousands of instructors and students. She joined AEA in 1946.

Fran's passionate devotion to the Home is legendary and was regularly demonstrated in variety shows produced for the residents, and in her care for the grounds where "Fran's Garden of Aquatic Delights" is carefully tended.
