Frank Stancati Joins Staff; Nancy Lynch Retires

Frank Stancati

Frank Stancati, a Chorus Councillor from 1994 to 2006 and member of the Western Advisory Board from 1991 to 1994, has joined the Eastern Region staff as an Outside Business Representative. An Equity member since 1976, Mr. Stancati has worked on the Production, LORT, Stock, Dinner Theatre, Cabaret, Guest Artist, Small Professional Theatre and Mini Contracts and has served on numerous committees.

He calls his new job a "perfect transition out of performing," and even turned down a contract so that he could accept the position. "After 30 years as an Actor, it was time for something different, something with security," Mr. Stancati says, adding that he often speculated about working for the Union and had thought that this particular position would be the job he would want. "I like dealing with the members directly and helping them. Actually, I will be doing some of the things I did on Council only now I'll be on staff."

He replaces Nancy Lynch, who retired after more than 13 years on the Equity staff, six years as a Chorus Councillor and 12 years as Second Vice-President. Ms. Lynch appeared in about 20 (she can't remember exactly) Broadway shows, including the original companies of THE KING AND I and MY FAIR LADY, and received the legendary Gypsy Robe four times. Her career as a gypsy ran from THE KING AND I in 1951 to MY ONE AND ONLY in 1983. She has been a part of Equity for 60 years (she joined the Union on June 1, 1946) and will be missed by all.
