Legal Help Line

Law Students to Staff Help Line for Artists

The University of Baltimore School of Law and Maryland Lawyers for the Arts have set up a free telephone help line for artists and arts organizations. UB law students, answer questions from artists and non-profit arts organizations and assist callers in obtaining additional legal assistance. The students are trained to assist callers in a wide array of legal issues related to the arts, including copyright, trademark, landlord-tenant relations, contracts and rules of incorporation. Although the members of the law school's Entertainment and Sports Law Club, will staff the phones, is no Maryland residency requirement to use the hotline, it is set up primarily to handle issues pertaining to Maryland law.
