DeSantis Receives Life Membership

Producer Tony DeSantis has been awarded an Honorary Life Membership in Equity for his exemplary record of providing employment for Equity members at his Drury Lane Theatres for almost 50 years. "Tony has been a good friend to Equity and its membership and we are delighted to honor him in this way," said Central Regional Director Kathryn Lamkey.

Mr. DeSantis, now 91, opened his first theatre 47 years ago in Evergreen Park. The 820-seat, in-the-round Drury Lane Martinique was also known as the Drury Lane Dinner Theatre and the Drury Lane Evergreen Park. He later opened Drury Lane East in McCormick Place, Drury Lane North at the Marriott Lincolnshire and the first Drury Lane Water Tower Place. He opened the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace in 1984. The new Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place opened on May 18.
