Area Description
Austin is known as "The Live Music Capital of the World" and San Antonio is home to The Alamo. Connecting the two cities is IH 35, but it is the rich Texas Heritage that really connects these two diverse communities. The area includes 3 SPTs, 1 URTA and 1 Production theatre, as well as ACOT, an approved Paymaster and Producer of Record for the area Umbrella Agreements. With over 75 other theatre companies, the opportunities abound with uses of the SAC and Guest Artists contracts. The area has over 150 members and 188 EMC's. Each year the theatrical community celebrates the vibrant theater scene with the B. Iden Payne Awards.
