By Jane Powell
At that time, the only thing I knew was MGM, where I had worked since I was 14. Unions were not even a part of my vocabulary. SAG meant a gravity problem. Equity meant owning a house. But I know better now, and thank heaven or Equity. Spending so many years on the road, working for decades in Stock and then in New York, I came to realize that Equity is a life saver. I’m a little older now, I hope a little wiser – and I get all the benefits. Thank you, Equity."
