Actors' Equity Represented at NAPU Talks November 8 - 9 in Montreal

Actors' Equity attended the North American Performing Unions (NAPU) conference in Montreal, Canada on November 8-9, 2002. Executive Director Alan Eisenberg was joined by Equity's Eastern Regional Vice President, Arne Gundersen, at the meeting.

The agenda included a discussion about renegotiating the ANDA-AFTRA-ACTRA-SAG cooperation agreement, which sets international, intra-union guidelines for actors in television, film and video productions in Mexico, the United States and Canada. The cooperation agreement is signed by the Asociacion Nacional de Actores (ANDA), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), the Alliance of Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) and the Screen Actors' Guild (SAG).

Eisenberg noted that actors performing in theatrical productions in the United States and Canada are under the respective jurisdictions of Actors' Equity and Canadian Actors' Equity, under a reciprocal agreement which was signed in 1976.
