Michael De Mono was recently appointed as Equity's National Membership Director. The announcement was made by Equity' Executive Director Alan Eisenberg and Equity's Executive Assistant for Administration, Steve DiPaola, and became effective on December 26, 2002.

In his new position, Michael will oversee all aspects of the membership department including basic dues billing, collection of working dues, membership applications and other changes of membership status. He oversees a staff of eight in the New York office, and a total of eight staff members in the Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Orlando offices.

Michael attended Rutgers University, where he majored in theatre management. He acquired his love for the theatre as a young child actor. He has worked at AEA since February 2000, where he was Committee Coordinator for the Eastern Region.

Michael feels that his most important responsibility is serving the membership. "There has to be a balance between understanding the needs the individual member and maintaining the policies set forth by the Association for the benefit of the membership-at-large," he says. According to his co-workers, he knows the importance of time, accuracy and detail, which will serve him well in his new assignment.

Break a leg, Michael
