|AEA and ART/NY Sponsor Networking Event For Actors of Color, Seniors, Women and Actors With Disabilities|
Resume Drop Off - Saturday, May 31, 2003
In conjunction with A.R.T./NY (Alliance of Resident Theatres of New York), Actors' Equity will sponsor a resume drop-off for actors and stage managers of color, senior actors, female actors and actors with disabilities on Saturday, May 31, 2003. The resume drop-off will take place in two sessions from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 4 PM. In addition to Equity actors, the event will also be open to SSDC (Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers) and Dramatist Guild members.
Please note that this event is by appointment only. Actors and others should call Willie Boston (AEA) at 212-869-8530 extension 346 for an appointment in the 9 AM to 12 PM session and Lisa Stevenson (A.R.T./NY) at 212-244-6667 extension 420 for an appointment in the 1- 4 PM session, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for an appointment. NO WALK-INS WILL BE PERMITTED.
According to Equity EEO Business Representative Willie Boston, "the event is being planned as an opportunity for members to drop off pictures and resumes with casting directors, artistic directors and/or literary directors from various not-for-profit theatres from the tri-state area."
A.R.T./ NY's Lisa Stevenson noted that over 20 theatre organizations from the tri-state area previously participated, and more have been invited on the 31st. In addition, independent casting directors have been invited. The day will be split into sessions, with theatre personnel and casting directors attending either the morning or the afternoon session
