New Award Recognizes Equity Character Actors

Actor/agent/playwright Richard Seff has established a new award to be administered by the Equity Foundation. The Richard Seff Award recognizes "character actors," who are 50 years or older or who have been members of Equity for 25 years or longer. It will be given to a featured or unfeatured female and male artist who gives the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway professional production. Each award will be $1,000 plus a crystal trophy.

Judges will be those previously designated by the Foundation to vote for the Clarence Derwent Award.
