Union Plus Scholarship Applications are Available Deadline for submitting completed applications is January 31, 2004

Applications for the 2004 Union Plus Scholarship program are now available. To download an application go to www.unionplus.org/scholarships or send a postcard with your name, return address, telephone number and international union affiliation to: Union Plus Education Foundation, c/o Union Privilege, P.O. Box 34800, Washington, DC 20043-4800.

The application deadline is January 31, 2004. Recipients' names for the 2004 program will be announced on May 31, 2004. However, due to the high volume of applications, only winners will be notified.

This year, 105 students, representing 42 AFL-CIO unions, were selected to receive $150,000 in scholarships. Funding for the Union Plus Scholarship program is provided through the Union Plus Education Foundation.

Since 1992, the Union Plus Scholarship program has provided more than $1.8 million to help fulfill the educational dreams of students who represent more than 13 million working families across the nation. Union Plus Scholarship awards are presented annually to union members or their families who want to begin or continue their secondary education.

Union Privilege, founded by the AFL-CIO in 1986, develops and manages Union Plus consumer benefit programs. Union Plus programs are designed to help the families of the 13 million members of AFL-CIO affiliated unions save time and money. Union Plus programs include a money-saving credit card, free and discounted legal services, discounted prescriptions and health care services, education and job skills training assistance, a home buying program, travel and recreation discounts, and much more.
