Launching a major improvement on its website, Actors’ Equity Association has introduced a new Member Services section, providing Equity members with a “members’ only” area where they can access agent lists, view and update their personal profile, check their dues status and take advantage of many other benefits and services offered by the Union. Equity’s website is www.actorsequity.org.

“Equity’s new Member Services section will provide the most current news and information during the upcoming Production Contract negotiations, including emergency notices,” emphasized Equity Executive Director Alan Eisenberg. It is vital that Equity members stay informed during the talks -we will be updating the Members’ Only area on a very frequent basis.”

The new Member Services section is a joint project of Equity’s Communications and Information Technology Departments, according to Steve DiPaola, National Director for Administration, who has overseen the development process. “This new section has been one of our top priorities and is part of a larger initiative that will improve services and benefits online making it more convenient for Equity’s members to get information and manage their accounts at any time of the day.”

“Equity’s website was launched in 1998 and has enjoyed steady growth in the number of visitors every year,” said IT Director Doug Beebe. “In our first month, we had 500 visitors; now we are averaging over 115,000 visitors per month. As our recent study showed, our members have become increasingly web savvy and rely on Equity’s website more and more for casting information, theatre news, and other services.”

President Patrick Quinn said: “I am very excited about the additional online services that Equity will be offering to our members. I congratulate our staff who have done incredible work to bring these positive changes to fruition.”
