Spring is a very busy time in the San Francisco Bay Area and this year is no exception. The Members of the Bay Area Advisory Committee is organizing several events and open to not only local AEA members but those who may be in residence at our 5 Lort Theatres, on Tour or just passing through the area. Come on out!

If you are new to the area or have been here and want to join in please do let us know by contacting BAAC Chair, Kelly Ground or 1st Vice Chair Steven Pawley - AEA maintains at all times a member's privacy and does not release your contact info to local chairs. So it's up to you to let us know you are here. We'd love to get you onboard!

Tri-Union Team, San Francisco AIDS Walk, July 17

Bay Area Members of AEA, AFTRA and SAG have formed a tri-union team for the 2011 San Francisco AIDS Walk. The walk will take place Sunday morning, July 17th in Golden Gate Park. This is the 25th year the AIDS Walk has taken place in San Francisco - a milestone which brings about somewhat mixed feelings - gratefulness for all the support from the community and a sadness that the Walk is still necessary 25 years on. The funds raised will go toward providing direct services to thousands of men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS in the San Francisco Bay Area.

There is no fee to register, but we encourage everyone to raise funds. Last year, the average fundraising walker raised $317! Any amount raised is greatly needed and appreciated. Once you register, you will receive all of the appropriate AIDS Walk materials in the mail so you can begin fundraising. You can also choose to become a Green Walker and receive all your materials electronically. In addition, you will receive your username and password to create your personal fundraising Web page.

To join our team, go to the Take Action tab at and select Form or Join a Team?. This will allow you to access an alphabetical list of registered teams. We are Team #2435 and the team name is AEA AFTRA SAG. The following url will take you directly to the page:

An e-mail may be sent to the team leader, Stephen Pawley,, if there are any further questions or assistance is needed in signing up. Other volunteer support will be needed as we get closer to the date.
