Seattle AEA Hosts “Second Sundays at Solo”

Monthly Gathering and Networking for All Performers

5:30 PM – Solo – 200 Roy Street

The Seattle Equity Liaison Committee has begun a new program whereby both union and non-union members meet at a social gathering the second Sunday of every month to discuss all-things-theatre in the Pacific Northwest. They have alliteratively titled the casual gatherings "Second Sundays at Solo,” which takes place at a popular watering hole among theatre professionals in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. Sundays were chosen as Solo offers an evening-long happy hour discount on both food and drink.

The monthly gathering commences at 5:30 pm and proceeds through the evening. The establishment is also conveniently located nearby many of Seattle's more popular theatres. The program began in September and continues throughout the year.

Every 2nd Sunday of the month, actors drop in to gather and socially share experiences. Last month, among the many topics discussed were work opportunities, recent theatre experiences, health care concerns, politics, dating, and stories shared between union and non-union members about the benefits of union membership. At the last gathering, many participants stayed quite late at Solo's, while many others left in groups to attend the opening of a DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF at the Intiman theatre. The Seattle Liaison committee is certain this new program will continue to grow and be very successful in celebrating Seattle's theatre identity.
