Dana Ivey, Larry Bryggman Receive Equity's Richard Seff Awards

(New York, NY, May 25, 2005) Dana Ivey and Larry Bryggman have been selected to receive the second annual Richard Seff Awards, presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation. The awards honor a female and male character actor, 50 years of age or older, for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production. The announcement was made today by Carl Harms, Trustee of the Awards and President of the Actors' Equity Foundation. The prizes are $1,000 each.

Ms. Ivey was honored for her performance as Mrs. Malaprop in the Lincoln Center production of Richard Sheridan's THE RIVALS. Mr. Bryggman was recognized for his performances in the Atlantic Theatre Company production of David Mamet's ROMANCE, and in the Broadway production of TWELVE ANGRY MEN.

The presentation will take place at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at the offices of Actors' Equity Association, 165 West 46th Street, New York.

The Judges' Panel for the awards includes: Irene Backalenick, Back Stage; Clive Barnes, New York Post; Betty Corwin, Director of Special Projects, Theatre on Film & Tape Archive of the Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts; Michael Kuchwara, Associated Press; Patrick Quinn, President of Actors' Equity; David Rosenberg, Back Stage; Michael Sommers, The Star Ledger; Douglas Watt, The Daily News, and Carl Harms.
