AWP members will describe how volunteering has developed their skills, expanded networks and lead to meaningful paid sideline/parallel work. Guest speakers from volunteer resources in NYC will share info on ways to connect with a range of opportunities
A Labor Market Analyst in New York City for the State Department of Labor Research and Statistics Division will report on the latest employment trends. He will be joined by a temp employment recruiter, who will describe the qualifications and behaviors of successful job seekers. No reservation is required.
A review of long term options to obtaining affordable rental housing: 80/20 housing, tenants' rights information, and more. This one time seminar is presented often throughout the year. Reservations not necessary. You can just show up!
Have you been in the process of creating your own venue/production company for your performance work? Are you exploring resources for running a production company? Have you been looking for support to write a business plan? If you are interested in attending this workshop, you must be available to attend all 3 Thursday sessions. 9/30, from 2 - 4 pm, 10/14, from 11 am - 2 pm and 10/28, from 2 - 4 pm. Location TBA. To be considered for participation in this workshop, you must first attend an AWP Orientation (see website for details).

Short Term Groups :: Summer/Fall 2010
A six-week group that explores how cultural, family, and entertainment industry attitudes contribute to how we think about and use money. This group is held three times per year. To ensure a positive experience, a pre-group telephone interview is required.
A five-week workshop where members learn strategies for organizing expenses, balancing multiple sources of income, and planning for dry spells. We also discuss tips for aligning your professional and financial goals. This group is offered three times per year.
