Heejung Helen Son, Kimberly Williams Join Equity Finance Department

Equity Comptroller Joseph V. De Michele is pleased to announce two new staff members in the national finance office in New York.

Heejung Helen Son (Finance Associate) is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Queens College, where she majored in accounting. She studied accounting because “it is the language of business” and is eager to build on this foundation by actively participating in her new responsibilities in the finance department. She also plans on furthering her own education while pursuing her favorite hobby – cooking ! “It is a pleasure for me to become a part of Actors’ Equity. I look forward in working with everyone in my Equity family.”

Kimberly Williams (Finance Associate) was born and raised in Texas and recently moved to New York after a two-year stint in Chicago working with Chicago Magazine and the Steppenwolf Theatre. Though she started off in the accounting field, she has “dabbled” in the performing arts and is an avid lover of the theater – a great combination for her new position in the finance department. “I am very excited to be a part of the Equity team and look forward to a productive and fruitful future with the company.”

Helen and Kimberly join Senior Finance Associate Robert Fowler, who came to Equity in April 2000. He is dedicated to the live theatre and brings this passion to his position at AEA, where he currently oversees payroll for 170 staff members, and handles Equity’s staff pension payments.

Robert hails from New York, where he “grew up” on theatre. “The first show I ever saw was THE MUSIC MAN, starring the great Robert Preston, and I’ve been hooked on musicals ever since.” He brings over 30 years of banking experience to his position at Equity, having worked at the Royal Bank of Canada in the Trust Department, Securities Department and Human Resources. One of his most memorable experiences was volunteering at the Equity Library Theatre in the ‘70s as Master Electrician.
