Equity’s Executive Director Briefs SAG Officials About Upcoming Production Contract Negotiations

Equity Executive Director Alan Eisenberg reports that he met with Screen Actors’ Guild Executive Director/CEO Bob Pisano in Los Angeles recently. Mr. Eisenberg also met with SAG’s newly appointed Communications Director Seth Oster.

“The meetings were very productive,” said Eisenberg. “We discussed administrative procedures that were recently instituted by Mr. Pisano, as well as financial issues, consolidation, human resources, communications and ways that Equity and SAG can work more closely together.”

According to Eisenberg, Guy Pace, Executive Assistant for Administration and Finance, and Steve DiPaola, Equity’s Director for National Administration, will confer with SAG Executives about SAG’s administrative changes and discuss how we might adapt these procedures to benefit Equity members.

Mr. Eisenberg apprised key SAG Officials about the upcoming Production Contract negotiations and Equity’s ongoing road campaign, battling non-Equity tours. “I received firm pledges of support during the negotiations,” emphasized Eisenberg.

Along with Western Regional Director John Holly, Eisenberg also met with AFTRA ‘s Los Angeles Executive Director, John Russum to review disciplinary procedures between the Unions. AFTRA and SAG members are prohibited from accepting employment in non-Equity tours under the provisions of the 4As.

At the Western Regional Board meeting on March 9, 2004, Eisenberg briefed the Board and staff members about the status of the negotiations, which began on April 1, 2004.
