AEA PROHIBITS MEMBERS FROM CANADIAN BLUE MAN GROUP

In a show of support for Canadian Equity, Actors’ Equity has resolved its members MAY NOT perform in the Canadian production of BLUE MAN GROUP. This ban will remain in effect unless and until Canadian Actors’ Equity is successful in organizing the production under contract. Although the show is not within Equity’s jurisdiction in the US, it does fall under Canadian Equity’s jurisdiction in Canada. Canadian Equity made the request that we assist them in their organizing efforts for the production, which is scheduled to open at the renovated New Yorker theatre in Toronto this Spring.

The Council of Actors’ Equity Association has complied by advising that it will be considered conduct unbecoming a member of the Association to accept work in the Canadian production of BLUE MAN GROUP unless signed to a Canadian Equity contract. For more information, visit www.caea.com.
