AEA’s GYPSY ROBE®

A Historic 65-Year Backstage Tradition on Broadway

As If We Never Said Goodbye: Sunset Boulevard's Matt Wall receives Gypsy Robe® for the Fourth Time!

"I love the Gypsy Robe® ceremony so much! It's a fantastic way to kick off opening night. The energy from everyone associated with the show is palpable. I especially love that the first part of the ceremony recognizes the cast members making their Broadway debut which is a huge achievement that only happens once!" - Matt Wall

Hometown: Poughkeepsie, NY

First Broadway Credit: I was a replacement in Saturday Night Fever; July 5th, 2000 was my first show.

Professional Training:  Mary Pat Berkin was my high school Drama teacher/director. BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory. Andrea Green in NY keeps me in check vocally.

Year Joined Equity: 1998

How I Got My Equity Card: I did a production of La Cage Aux Folles in Akron, OH. They agreed to give me my card for the last 2 weeks of the contract.

Number of Broadway Chorus Contract Credits: Sunset Boulevard is my 14th Broadway show.

Fun Fact: I've run the NYC marathon 4 times.
