'Young' Broadway Vet Cameron Adams Earns her Second Gypsy Robe®

A Historic 60-Year Backstage Tradition on Broadway

“Receiving the Gypsy Robe is such an incredible honor and symbolizes the hard work and dedication that chorus members have committed to on the stage in our professional careers. I am so proud to have been a part of each and every company I've performed with, whether it was a long or short run. I've met some of my closest friends and the people that mean the most to me while working as an Equity member over the past 15 years. It never gets old. What we get to do is magical and so rewarding. I love being a true Broadway ‘gypsy’ and continuing on this long-standing tradition.” - Cameron Adams

Cameron Adams was just 17 years old when she earned her Equity card and simultaneously made her Broadway debut in Susan Stroman’s acclaimed revival of The Music Man. Fifteen years later, this young Broadway vet with an impressive nine show credits to her name, and two-time Gypsy Robe® honoree, has come full circle performing in the new musical Gigi, returning home to the Neil Simon Theatre where her professional career began.

Gigi marks the Broadway debuts for show star Vanessa Hudgens along with Max Clayton, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Kathryn Boswell and Alison Jantzie.

This colorful ceremony, which honors a chorus member (a “gypsy”) who has the most Broadway chorus credits, is a cherished backstage tradition.
