AEA’s GYPSY ROBE®

Taprena Michelle Augustine Garners Equity’s Gypsy Robe® for A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN

A Historic 60-Year Backstage Tradition on Broadway

On Thursday, October 10, 2013, AEA’s iconic Gypsy Robe® was presented to Taprena Michelle Augustine on the opening night of A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN at the Lyceum Theatre. This colorful ceremony, which honors a chorus member (a “gypsy”) who has the most Broadway chorus credits, is a cherished backstage tradition.
