Greater Washington, DC/Baltimore Actors' Equity Association Summer Picnic
Monday, August 19th, from 6-10PM
The Greater Washington, DC/Baltimore Actors' Equity Association Summer Picnic will be held this coming Monday, August 19th, from 6-10PM. As tradition has dictated for a number a years now, we will hold our gathering at the home of former Liaison Committee co-chair, Bill Largess -- 4018 Argyle Terrace, N.W., Washington, DC 20011. Bill's home is just west of 16th Street and quite near Rock Creek Park. (If you are carless, it's about a 10-15 minute walk from 16th Street and the Metrobus route.) We will plan to hold our picnic rain or shine. If the weather refuses to cooperate, we'll repair indoors!
The committee will provide burgers and dogs and some side dishes, as well as beverages and ice, but do feel free to bring a dish or a bottle of something to share, if you are so inclined.
Please bring your Equity card with you, as we will be checking cards -- and signing up folks for the list serve and door prizes! -- as you arrive. However, this is NOT an official meeting. Significant others (and family) are welcome to accompany you. And EMCs are most welcome as well. (EMCs, bring your cards, too, to be eligible for a door prize.)
Note that we’ve had a special request from AEA in NY: “We would love it if you would let the picnic attendees to tweet out photos etc at the picnic and to include @actorsequity in the tweets. That way the tweets will show up on the official Equity account and we can retweet or send our own tweets out to everyone.”
So, if you tweet, help raise the profile of our picnic by doing so Monday night!
If you were unable to attend the wonderful AEA Centennial celebration at Arena Stage on July 29th, here's your chance to catch up with fellow members. Please join us as we celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a new theatre season.
