SF-Bay Area Members Fight Hunger at Alameda County Food Bank On March 5th, 2012, San Francisco Bay Area AEA members made another trip to the Alameda County Food Bank to volunteer their time to help fight hunger in the Bay Area. The AC Food Bank’s mission is to alleviate hunger by providing nutritious food and nutrition education to people in need, educating the public, and promoting public policies that address hunger and its root causes. Alameda County Food Bank Fellow Jaclyn Epter thanked the Equity volunteers: “On behalf of all of us at the Alameda County Community Food Bank I would like to thank you and your amazing group from the Actor’s Equity Association for your time and service yesterday. Your hardworking group helped us get through more than 12,000 lbs of produce (the equivalent weight of 9,000 meals) for residents in Alameda County! Thank you so much for taking the time to assist with efforts to alleviate hunger in Alameda County. The work of the Food Bank would not be possible without community members like you. We know we’ll see your group again soon!
