Tulsa Project Theatre Becomes Equity Theatre

The Tulsa Project Theatre is the newest Equity Theatre in the “OK” State. Starting with the 2012-2013 season, TPT will be operating under an Equity SPT agreement. According to an article in TULSA WORLD, earning Equity status has been Tulsa Project Theatre's goal from its inception, when the company presented an outdoor production of "The Rocky Horror Show" for Halloween 2009. "It would have made my life a lot easier if we didn't pursue this," said founding producer Todd Cunningham, “but this was a vision that the board supported from the beginning."

"This is something that should have happened a long time ago in Tulsa," said Bob Hendrick, President of the company's board of directors. "It's like the last piece of the puzzle to help make this city a first-class arts community."
