Nancy Daly, former Equity Councillor, founded a National Team-We Take Care of Our Own - Actors United to End Alzheimer's - who joined in the National Walk to End Alzheimer's sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association.

"I'm your daughter- I'm your daughter."

Everyone was welcome-actors, directors, writers, stagehands, musicians, friends and family. We showed support to our members and their families who are living with this heartbreaking disease. We do, indeed, take care of our own. Nancy wrote an article, "Living in Twilight - An Alzheimer's Story," that was published in the October/November 2010 issue of Equity News. Out of respect for her parents' privacy, she did not sign her name. As her mother's disease has progressed, the second half of her family's story has been written, and both parts are now posted on the AEA website.

Actors United to End Alzheimer's at the start of the NY Alzheimer's Walk in Riverside Park. Thanks to everyone who came out to raise $$ for this worthy, important cause. Bravo Nancy Daly !

Over 50 AEA-AFTRA-SAG members joined the Actors Unite To End Alzheimer's Team in LA on Sunday 10/9 and raised almost $15K. According to Team Captain Nancy Daly, shout-outs came from SAG President Ken Howard and AEA member Alfred Molina among others. Nancy said: "I created this team so that actors across the country would be able to join together and support each other- it is too late for me to get my mom back. She doesn't know me anymore. But maybe by creating this team- other actors around the country might find some guidance and comfort and have a little more time with their own mom or dad while they still know them and remember their name." Bravo AUEA Team LA !
