"And the Award Goes to" . . . by Peter Mayer
 The 2011 Kevin Kline Awards Winners The 6th Annual Kevin Kline Awards honoring excellence in St. Louis professional theatre were presented by the Professional Theatre Council on March 28th at the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts. Hosted by the evenings producer and the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis's Managing Director, Edward Coffield, the ceremony was attended by over 500 people. Stages St. Louis received the most honors of any nominated company with a total of 5 awards including Outstanding Director of a Musical to Michael Hamilton for his work on PROMISES, PROMISES and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical going to Ben Nordstrom and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical to Brandi Wooten for their performances in the same production. The Muny received 4 awards including Outstanding Production of a Musical for SHOW BOAT with Michael Bell receiving the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical for his show-stopping performance as Joe, and to Ashley Brown as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical for her performance as Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. In addition, Philip Boehm, Artistic Director of Upstream Theater, won the award for Outstanding Director of a Play for OUTLYING ISLANDS. Jim Butz received the Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a play for his performance as HAMLET with the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis which also took home the Outstanding Play Award. Evan Jonigkeit received Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Play for HIGH at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.
 AEA STL Area Liaisoni Kari Ely In an unprecedented occurrence double acting honors went to Kari Ely (Liaison Chair) for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play for WHY TORTURE IS WRONG AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM for HotCity Theatre and Outstanding Lead Actress in a play for her portrayal of Mary Tyrone in Muddy Waters Theatre's LONG DAYS JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. Equity members Zoe Vonder Haar, Ben Nordstrom, and Ron Gibbs
were not only busy this month performing in the opening number at the
KKA's but also joined forces with fellow members Lara Teeter, John Flack,
and Alexis Kenny, all donating their time and musical talents to Dancing for
Dana, a fund raiser to benefit friend and colleague Dana Lewis. Dana is
undergoing her second bout of ovarian cancer. Dancing for Dana raised
over $5,000 to help with the cancer therapy that is not being covered by
insurance. While Dana spends her summers as the resident choreographer
at Stages St. Louis she had performed, choreographed and taught around
