Philadelphia AEA Membership Meeting - Monday, November 8, 2010

On a somewhat cold and rainy evening, 22 area members made their way to Fergie’s Pub on Sansom Street to attend the 2010 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA. We thank Eastern Regional Vice President Kate Shindle and Senior Business Representative Zalina Hoosein for taking time to come down from New York to participate. They discussed a number of topics including the choice of the new Executive Director, Mary McColl, the Centennial Celebration, Deputy Meetings, the upcoming National Conference, the revision of the SPT contract and E-Voting.

Liaison Chairman Tom Helmer reviewed many of the Liaison Committee’s 2010 activities which included the use of the new Philly Fringe Code, the newsletter that’s now available in PDF form at the AEA website and our interaction with the Philadelphia Councils of AFTRA and SAG. Barry Brait and Dan Olmstead offered to join the committee’s work once again. The committee includes fellow AEA members Lori Aghazarian, Pat Adams, Julie Czarnecki, Bob Foley, Jeannette Hartunian, Paul Nolan, Seth Reichgott, Pat Sabato and Chris Sapienza.

Many thanks go to Julie Czarnecki for coordinating the use of Fergie’s 2nd floor space. A nice spread of finger foods and desserts were devoured and reduced drink specials were offered by Fergie’s. A good time and great discussion were had by all as we concluded the meeting for some social time amongst colleagues. The Philadelphia AEA Liaison Committee looks forward to continuing our service in 2011 to AEA members throughout the greater Delaware Valley area.
