Award Winning Mixed Blood Theatre Dedicated to Multi-Racial Casting Founded in 1975, Minneapolis' award-winning MIXED BLOOD Theatre company is dedicated to the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King's dream. Under the Artistic Direction of Jack Reuler, this professional multi-racial company has advocated for cultural pluralism, individual equality and artistic excellence for more than three decades. Indeed, Mixed Blood was one of the first theatre companies to be recognized by Actors' Equity in 1990 with the prestigious Rosetta LeNoire Award for its commitment to multi-racial casting. In its most recent production, DISTRACTED, by Lisa Loomer, Mixed Blood tackled the controversial topic of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder), questioning whether genetics, sensory overload, vaccinations, diet and the environment contribute to this disease, which affects thousands of children. The production was well-received by audiences and critics alike.
