Bay Area Advisory Committee Hosts Spring Membership Meeting

Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Fund Drive, New Sub-Committees

The San Francisco Bay Area Advisory Committee (BAAC) hosted the Spring AEA membership meeting on April 28th at Chevy's in the Embarcadero. Special Guest, Mary Lou Westerfield, National Director of Policy and Interim Western Regional Director were present and outgoing chair, Jerry Marks presided.

Elections to fill open seats on the Bay Area Advisory Committee were held and Nancy Madden, George Mac Rae, Noah Butler (alt), were re-elected to 3 year terms. Committee officers were elected at the May 19th meeting of BAAC.

Current members of BAAC are:
Kelly Ground - Chair, Bert Van Aalsburg - 1st Vice Chair, Chris Ayles, 2nd Vice Chair, Phoebe Moyer, Stephen Pawley, Wanda McCaddon, Katja Rivera, Nancy Madden, George MacRae, Noah Butler (Alt), and Milt Commons (Lifetime member AEA, Member Emeritis BAAC)

Four seats remain to be filled . Elections for all open seats will be held in the Spring . The Committee encourages all Bay Area Members to consider volunteering for BAAC.

Those interested in running for BAAC need to prepare as short statement of interest and submit it to the AEA office prior to the Spring membership meeting to verify eligibility.

Save The Date: the Bay Area Fall General Membership meeting is set for October 13th @ 6:30PM. Location TBD.

The BAPP (Bay Area Project Policy ) , has been revised in a lengthy examination by the BAPP sub-committee. Changes to the policy will be presented & discussed at the Fall Membership meeting.

Volunteer for KQED's Pledge drive:
To raise the visibility of AEA members in the community, BAAC has registered with local PBS TV affiliate KQED as volunteers for the station's regular pledge drives. At the Annual Membership meeting held on April 28 in San Francisco twenty AEA members signed up to join the members of BAAC as ready and willing volunteers.
