American Girl Place Theater

Following a two year organizing effort, Actors’ Equity Association achieved a contract with American Girl Place Theater in New York City effective as of April 1, 2008.

Despite the fact that the theater is scheduled to close in September 2008, Equity achieved gains in salary and benefits including a severance package for the 15-member bargaining unit.

Equity’s negotiating team was led by Flora Stamatiades, National Director, Organizing and Special Projects. The negotiating team included bargaining unit members, AEA staff Kathy Mercado, Keith Sklar, Karen Master and Quin Chia, and AEA Councillors John Atherlay and Scott McGowan.
