Gundersen in Rochester To Testify Before Committee on Health

Eastern Regional Vice President Arne Gundersen traveled to Rochester, New York on April 19, 2007 to testify for a second time before the New York State Assembly Committee on Health chaired by Assemblyman Richard Gottfried and Assemblywoman Susan John. Mr. Gundersen spoke of the need for affordable and accessible health care, explaining that Equity members reside all across the United Sates. He explained that a successful healthcare plan needs to be adequate, accessible, affordable and simple. Mr. Gundersen also declared that the states are taking the lead on this important issue, but that the federal government must step in and take responsibility. Eleven other groups echoed Equity's concerns.
