Equity in DC for Arts Advocacy Day

On March 13, 2007, Eastern Regional Director Carol Waaser and Councillor and Legislative Committee Co-Chair Marjorie Horner were in Washington, DC for Arts Advocacy Day. They teamed with representatives from SAG and AFTRA to meet with several legislators in order to push for a modification to the Qualified Performing Artist provision in the tax code. (The cap has been $16,000 since 1986.) the next morning the New York State AFL-CIO arranged a breakfast with the New York legislative delegation for NY union representatives. The Entertainment Industry unions were well-represented.
