Houston Theatre Hosts Area Meeting

Stages Repertory Theatre welcomed Houston/Galveston area producers and AEA Members on February 10, 2007, for a guest reception followed by the annual business meeting. Special guest at this year's meeting was Kathryn Lamkey, Central Region Director, who was filling in for the West Coast office as the Equity representative.

Following nominations to replace outgoing Liaison Committee members, the group unanimously welcomed new committee members Susan O. Koozin, Eva De La Cruz and Celeste Roberts, who has also accepted the responsibility of Hotline Coordinator. Susan Schoffner, former Coordinator, will continue to serve on the Liaison Committee as E-mail Coordinator.

Liaison Chairman David Grant reported that the South Texas Area currently has 195 members, a slight increase over previous years. He recapped the Committee's efforts in producing the Equity Resource Guide, a two-year-old project directed to a select list of twenty-five area theaters. The Guide provides basic contract information, and headshots and resumes for participating members.

In the coming year, the Committee will be exploring ways to work more closely with area producers, to provide increased casting and audition information for the local membership.
