Labor Day Parade Unions Show Solidarity at NYC's Labor Day Parade The annual New York City Labor Day Parade took place on September 9, drawing thousands of metro-NYC union members, families, friends, political candidates and other participants. This year's Grand Marshals were NY State AFL-CIO President Denis Hughes, and UNITE! HERE's Edgar Romney.

Actors' Equity, AFTRA and SAG members stepped off behind the AFM Local 802 float, followed by other entertainment unions up 5th Avenue, including members from Writers' Guild East, AGMA, and Local 1 IATSE Stagehands. The parade continued up to 72nd Street past a packed reviewing stand before disbanding. Special thanks to the proud Equity members who came out for the parade: Maureen Angelos, Kevyne Baar, Frank Biancamano, Minda Carol, Austin Colyer, Thomas Hoyt Godfrey, Margaret A. Flanagan, Thomas M. Harlan, Vivienne Hacker, Julie Halpern, Jimmy Harris, Quanda Johnson, Darnell Jones (who joined AEA the day before), Ruth Last, Cynthia Lopez, Doug Lory, Liz Morton, Joanna McHugh, Eric Montesa, Ruth Ann Phimister, Herb Foster Quebec, Deborath Stone, Deborah Jean Templin, and Linda Carol Young. Also participating were: Eastern Regional Director Carol Waaser, Communications Director David Lotz, and National Director, Organizing and Special Projects Flora Stamatiades. Special thanks to Linda Carol Young for assisting with parade set-up.
