Equity's Western Region EEO Committee Presents: "Salute to African-American Arts and Culture"

In honor of Black History month, Equity's Western Region Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Committee will present "Salute to African American Arts and Culture," at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre 4800 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood on Monday, March 7, 2005. This free event will begin with a reception at 6:45 pm, followed by a presentation starting promptly at 8 PM.

The EEO Committee will be honoring Gordon Davidson, the Producing Artistic Director of the Mark Taper and Ahmanson Theaters; Suzan-Lori Parks, the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright (Best Dramatic Play of 2002) and recipient of a 2001 MacArthur Foundation Genius Award; Roscoe Lee Browne, celebrated actor and performer extraordinaire; and Charles Johnson, producer of JAG on CBS.

The hosts for the evening are CCH Pounder and Wren Brown. Entertainment will include scenes from productions from the Robey Theatre, The Fountain Theatre and the Towne Street Theatre, along with musical selections from RAISIN and JELLY'S LAST JAM and a dance performance by the Central Avenue Dancers.
