Seminars :: Winter 2010 GETTING/COMPLETING YOUR BACHELORS DEGREE
Thinking about getting your Bachelors degree, or picking up where you left off? It's never too late. Representatives from New York area undergraduate and associate degree programs will discuss the options for adults returning to college. They will be joined by performers who have pursued further education to develop their interests and career options. The program is co-sponsored by AWP and Career Transition for Dancers. HOUSING SEMINAR
A review of long term options to obtaining affordable rental housing: 80/20 housing, tenants' rights information, and more. This one time seminar is presented often throughout the year. Reservations not necessary. You can just show up! INTRODUCTION TO ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORKING

Short Term Groups :: Winter 2009/2010
Support Group for Injured Dancers
An eight week support group for professional dancers to confidentially and safely address the emotional issues and complexities specific to dancers facing physical problems. The group is led by The Dancers' Resource social worker. A pre-attendance interview is required.
MANAGING CASH FLOW FOR ARTISTS - WINTER SESSION
A five-week workshop where members learn strategies for organizing expenses, balancing multiple sources of income, and planning for dry spells. We also discuss tips for aligning your professional and financial goals. This group is offered three times per year.
MONEY AND THE PERFORMING ARTIST - WINTER SESSION
A six-week group that explores how cultural, family, and entertainment industry attitudes contribute to how we think about and use money. This group is held three times per year. To ensure a positive experience, a pre-group telephone interview is required.
POSITIVE AGING
A group for men over 50 who are dealing with issues of aging with HIV. The group will look at what makes a positive aging process and helps members understand their own strengths and coping mechanisms so they can move toward a solid, integrated sense of self that transcends the physical challenges of aging. The group will meet for 10 weekly sessions beginning January 20th through March 24th Wednesday afternoons from 3 - 4:30. To ensure a positive group experience an interview is required prior to attending.
STRATEGIES FOR FIGHTING DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY AT LOCAL 802
An eight week confidential group for members of Local 802 focused on teaching basic tools to help you manage your mood. Unlike traditional talk therapies, this structured group will feature weekly guided exercises and homework assignments with the goal of helping you take control of how you feel. This group will be held 2/1/10 - 3/29/10 on Mondays 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Group will not meet Monday 2/15/10. An interview is required to ensure a positive group experience.
DEBT RELIEF - SPRING SESSION
A three-week educational workshop where members learn the basics of managing credit and debt ? from evaluating the terms of a loan offer to improving your credit score to avoiding debt scams and even recovering from bankruptcy. Debt Relief is offered twice per year.

The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic provides free health care to uninsured and underinsured documented entertainment industry professionals between the ages of 18 to 64. For more information, click here.
