RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Actors’ Equity Association has for over 90 years greatly contributed to the quality and professionalism of American theatre and
WHEREAS, Actors’ Equity Association has fought to ensure that actors and stage managers receive better wages, working conditions, pension and health benefits and
WHEREAS, Actors’ Equity Association has promoted and stimulated the art of live theatre and ensured the health of the American theatrical community and
WHEREAS, Actors' Equity Association is honorable in its current fight against non-Equity road productions by upholding high quality standards and equitable terms for all actors and stage managers and
WHEREAS, the present negotiations between Actors’ Equity Association and the League of American Theatres and Producers is critical to the life of live quality theatre everywhere and
WHEREAS, Actors' Equity Association is fighting to preserve not only the high quality of live theatre in New York City and around the country, but also quality of life for its members, who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect for their talent and hard work, and
WHEREAS, Actors’ Equity Association has always stood by their brothers and sisters in the labor movement to protect the professionalism and dignity of the entertainment industry and
WHEREAS, Actors’ Equity Association provided unwavering and vital support to Local 802 during the 2003 Broadway musicians strike,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians pledges complete and absolute support to Actors’ Equity Association in their struggle to maintain live quality theatre and dignity and respect for all of its’ 45,000 members.
