San Diego Liaison Committee Urges Member Involvement

The San Diego Liaison Committee thanks all who attended the Annual Membership Meeting on January 26, 2004, which, according to the Committee, "was informative, entertaining and the free food was great. Make sure you come next year."

The Committee also has several reminders and announcements to pass on to members in the area.

Address corrections: Have you moved? Changed your e-mail? Make sure that AEA has your current contact information. If you are not sure, send your latest address, phone and e-mail and the Committee will make sure the list is updated.

Headshot binder: The San Diego Local Equity Member Headshot binder has been distributed to all local producers who want it. If you would like to add your picture and resume or send your newest ones, contact the Committee at sdliaisoncommittee@yahoo.com.

Equity survey: The Liaison Committee is always looking for ways to improve San Diego Equity membership. To this end, a survey has been prepared and the Committee asks area members to answer the following questions:

1. Do you have any suggestions to improve the annual meetings? What would get you to attend?
2. Is your picture and resume in the San Diego AEA Headshot book? If not, why not?
3. Any suggestions for the SD Liaison Committee? Any programs or activities you would like to see?
4. What would get you to be more involved with the union?
5. Did you attend the Actors Alliance All-City Auditions? What would get you to go next year?
6. Do you have any other thoughts, comments or suggestions?

Discounts: Kruse Productions announces a 25% discount for AEA members on all audio and video services. Lots of theatres and local services give discounts with an AEA card. Ask.

Food drive: Local members will be helping out with the National Association of Letter Carriers' Food Drive on Saturday, May 8, 2004. Help collect and sort canned goods at the San Diego Food Bank for a few hours. Join the Committee to help the community, the union brothers and sisters, network and show the community that AEA is there to help. Grocery strike: A reminder: the Grocery Workers' Union is still on strike. The Liaison Committee urges members to support the union by not crossing the picket lines at local grocery stores.
