Crystal is Clear About Support for Equity's Holiday Basket Project

Cast members from Westchester Broadway's MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS (L-R: Samantha Greene, Richard Barth, Jeanne Lehman, Bob Freschi) pitch in for the Falat Holiday Basket Project

Billy Crystal is serious about supporting Equity's annual Stephen J. Falat Holiday Basket Project. The Project, established in 1986 and named for its originator who died from AIDS, delivers large, colorful shopping bags (aka "baskets") filled with clothing, CDs, candy, toiletries, and more, to local New York hospitals and AIDS organizations, to brighten the holidays of people living with AIDS. All merchandise is new and has been donated by corporations and individuals.

This year, volunteers will deliver over 2,500 "baskets" to more than 20 hospitals, AIDS hospices, pediatric AIDS centers and HIV community services in the New York metropolitan area.

If you would like to volunteer to assist the Committee or would like to donate merchandise, contact Anne Fortuno, Project Coordinator and Assistant to the President, at (212) 869-8530, ext. 409.

Members of Equity's Stephen J. Falat Basket Project Committee are Arne Gundersen (Chair), Austin Colyer, Jeanne Lehman, Maureen Moore and Jean-Paul Richard.
