Actors' Equity Supports Striking Casino Workers in Atlantic City

Dana Ivey, acclaimed actress and long time Equity Councillor, offers the support of Actors' Equity Association with a fiery speech delivered to thousands of striking casino workers in Atlantic City. Over 10,000 casino workers, represented by Unite/Here Local 54, have been on strike against Harrah's, the Showboat, the Tropicana, the Claridge, Bally's Resorts, Caesar's and the Hilton since Oct 1, following months of attempted negotiations. The key issues are: fair wages and benefits, preventing employers from subcontracting casino jobs to outside companies with no union and securing a 3 year contract providing much needed job security. Eastern Regional Director Carol Waaser also attended the rally on behalf of AEA. For more information about the strike, visit
