We’ve got to keep the noise down on audition lines so that casting personnel and our Members can concentrate on auditions. Loud conversations or vocalizing can really disturb auditions, even when studio doors are closed.
Cellphone rings and phone conversations can be really annoying when an actor is trying to concentrate. Please turn your cellphone’s ringer to “OFF” or “VIBRATE” when visiting the NYC Audition Center, and when on or near any Equity audition line.
The primary purpose of the Audition Center is as a professional venue in which our Members can audition for work.
Food and drinks (other than water) are prohibited in the NYC Audition Center lounge. You may enjoy your snacks and beverages in the Center lobby. The reason: even though the Center is professionally cleaned every day, food and drinks make stains in the carpet and furniture that are very difficult to remove. We’re trying to keep the Center neat, calm and dignified.
