The following procedures spell out the many details regarding required Equity Principal or Equity Chorus Calls as mandated by contractual agreements with Equity Employers. Please note that Chicago has separate procedures that encompass both Chorus and Principal Calls.

EMC Audition System at EPAs

Overview
Collective Bargaining Agreements between Actors' Equity Association and theatrical producers require that producers conduct auditions for Equity members that are separate and distinct from non-member auditions.

Producers may conduct calls and auditions according to their own schedule and in whatever order they wish between the required Equity member calls and the many types of non-required casting situations.

Producers are never required to hire any performer as a result of being seen at any call, including the Equity member-only calls.
